Femme Voyageante

We'll talk about cars, motorcycles, kids, life, employment, fishing, hunting, sports to include water and snow. Let's touch upon the outdoors, different ideas for different folks, family, advice, the moments we laugh or cry, hey a real life chicken soup, school, home ownership and those wonderful repair ideas (stories w/ a lesson). All of this and so much more.

Religion, politics, such the wonderful conversation all the time, books, appliances, gosh I could just keep going on with all that's there but keep reading and you'll definitely follow with what I am saying.

So with this in mind...whatever is written is a direction of an interest, hobby or fact of some kind and if we think about it daily life has everything to do with. So in that let me introduce you to Femme Voyageante.

What does it mean? Journeying Woman in French would be Femme Voyageante and that is exactly what everything will be, just me, a woman journeying through what everyone of us journey through. I am a liberal, face adversity with at least a smile and then I wonder why we can't buy time.

What you find in my writings will be a bit of us all. Go, take a gander and continue to learn.

Parenting comes in more forms than most of us realize. You parent your kids obviously but what about their friends when they come over or other family members who are still minors, or other kids just because they are in your house, maybe you even have to parent a parent...take a deep breath on that one. Keep in mind it is your house, you run it a specific way and all who enter shold be expected to maintain the rules but household rules isn't what I want to relate to all but something much more important.

My 13 yr old neice is in foster care, never to be returned to her parents which is sad in itself but unfortunately chances are she would have more opportunities in foster care but me as the ever parenting parent has decided to stand up and fight for her. This little girl needs alot of love, boundaries, someone to watch over and help her with her education, know where she is at, even give her a real birthday party. This little girl doesn't hardly know what a stable family is.

I am fortunate in this because my neice and I have set boundaries along time ago about being in my home visiting and she is familiar with ongoing rules and her and my kids which all are cousins of course are really close. I can't let myself walk away from her because she is family, because she does deserve more in so many aspects, because I love her dearly and I don't want her last few years to be in foster care when I am fully capable. She even wants to come here so in the interim I am being certified as a foster parent and she will get to live here and for that I am grateful.

I know she wants a career as a probation officer or a lawyer, the very thing she despises right now but already her thought process is good. I know as a young child I despised law enforcement personnel but now I have awesome friends in this realm. Knowing what she wants as an adult helps me to help her and that is what this is all about. Take a stand, show you care, love a child and you'll be blessed.

During all of this I have not done it by myself which only goes to prove that sometimes it does take a village to raise a child.
